“It's a tremendous honor to be chosen as the superintendent for Prince George County Public Schools," Dr. Lyle remarked. “I look forward to collaborating with the school board, staff, parents and community in this role. I am committed to providing all students with an exceptional educational experience.”

"We welcome Dr. Lyle to Prince George County Public Schools and our community here in Southside Virginia," Prince George County School Board Chair Jill A. Andrews said. "We believe Dr. Lyle will be a tremendous resource for our students and staff as our district's next superintendent as he brings a wealth of knowledge through his leadership and experience across nearly 30 years in education. Reaching the concluding stage of the superintendent search process would not have been possible without the support of our community. Hearing from our stakeholders through surveys and public comments was essential during this process, and we appreciate the time, attention, and thoughtful insights of our families, staff, and community."

"I join the Prince George County School Board in welcoming Dr. Lyle to Prince George County as our next superintendent," Prince George County School Board Vice-Chair Sherry D. Taylor said. "Dr. Lyle's experience within public school divisions, spanning both instruction and support services, during his nearly 30 years in education will be a great asset our entire school community will benefit from as he joins us here in Prince George. We appreciate the community's support during the summer by participating in our search survey and sharing their thoughts during public comments. Selecting a new superintendent is one of the most important tasks any school board must undertake, and ensuring the community was involved in the process was essential for the board."

"Dr. Lyle has been a dedicated and trusted district leader in our community," Danville Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Angela Hairston said. "His visionary approach to education and unwavering commitment to student success has led to transformed school environments across the district and significant improvements in academic achievement. Dr. Lyle’s innovative approach and collaborative spirit have not only led to improvements in academic performance of students and greater efficiencies in day-to-day operations but also cultivated a culture of support. We will miss Dr. Lyle, but trust that he will continue to engage in the work that supports learning for all students, and that he will make a lasting and positive impact on the Prince George community.”

Dr. Lyle earned his Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from Virginia Tech, an Education Specialist degree in Curriculum and Instruction from The University of Virginia, a Master of Education in Administration and Supervision from The University of Virginia, and a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from Radford University.

The selection of Dr. Lyle as Prince George County Public Schools’ next superintendent completes the collaborative search process with the VSBA. In May, the Prince George County School Board announced its intent to begin a superintendent search, with the VSBA partnering with the board by providing resources and support. During the late spring, a search survey distributed widely to the community drew over 700 responses outlining the qualities and qualifications stakeholders would like to see in the division’s next superintendent, culminating in a public hearing in June.

This information was used as the foundation of the school board’s search process, conducting interviews with candidates during the summer. In total, two dozen full applications were submitted for the position.
